Thank goodness this was a library book for me and not wasted cash.

I just discovered your site via Pat's trumpeting your return. Nice work, I look forward to reading more.Kevin A. I had issues with it's structure (and a lot of the content) but I'm a sucker for stories about knights in armour ;o) In the end I went with my gut instinct but am hoping for better things from the sequel.Graeme Floryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15411505049326440010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17224228.post-63160517948845115902007-11-24T11:42:00.000-07:002007-11-24T11:42:00.000-07:00I'm divided about the sequel - I didn't care for t...I'm divided about the sequel - I didn't care for this book all, so it'll at least be a while. I think that some comparison to Erikson is warrented in that they approached some aspects of their writing in similar ways.

There is room for significant improvement in the sequel, so the question is can Keck deliver on that.Nethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16963540055415924510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17224228.post-69085076839921529272007-11-24T07:52:00.000-07:002007-11-24T07:52:00.000-07:00I bought this book when it first came out in hardc...I bought this book when it first came out in hardcover actually, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. With the sequel coming out in Feb. I'm hoping to do a back-to-back review, but it's interesting to see what other people think of the first one. It's kind of gotten a divided response, but I'm hoping that the follow-up improves on the debut...Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16739272158939133499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17224228.post-13875585352041463522007-11-23T22:50:00.000-07:002007-11-23T22:50:00.000-07:00I'm debating if/when I'll put forth the effort and...I'm debating if/when I'll put forth the effort and read the sequel that I have in ARC form. I too didn't care much for it, as it just felt disjointed and dull and boring and just all sorts of blah to me. But then again, Erikson's first book was little better the first time I read it and I had two other volumes of it to go through and fewer unread books back in 2002, so...nah, I doubt that will happen twice :PLarry Nolenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16001420558511460998noreply@blogger.com
